ANDREW LACHMAN FOR STATE ASSEMBLY
San Fernando Valley, CA –State Senator Alan Lowenthal, a respected member of Los Angeles County’s legislative delegation since 1998, today endorsed Andrew Lachman’s campaign for the California State Assembly’s new 46th District.
“To fix Sacramento, we need someone who has a record of bringing change and cares about education, the environment and restoring responsive government,” said Senator Lowenthal. “Andrew Lachman has made a difference as a community leader, in the private sector, as an educator teaching business law and will be an asset to the San Fernando Valley in Sacramento as an Assemblyman.”
Senator Lowenthal, a Senator since 2004, is currently serving as Chair of the Senate Committee on Education, which considers legislation pertaining to education, higher education, and school employees. Previously, Senator Lowenthal served as Chair of the Senate Committee on Tranportation, where he provided critical oversight to the state’s transportation infrastructure. Prior to serving in the State Senate, he served six years in the Assembly and six years on the Long Beach City Council.
The California State Assembly’s new 46th District is located in the San Fernando Valley and includes all or part of the communities of Lake Balboa, North Hills, Panorama City, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Toluca Lake, Valley Village, Valley Glen, and Van Nuys.
Andrew Lachman served as the Consultant to the Joint Committee on the Arts for the California Legislature and is currently an Adjunct Professor in Business Law and Policy at Woodbury University in Burbank. He is a member of the Democratic National Committee and served as President o the San Fernando Valley Young Democrats and Democrats for Israel.
