ANDREW LACHMAN FOR STATE ASSEMBLY

San Fernando Valley, CA – The California Small Business Association today endorsed lawyer, educator, and long-time Democratic Party activist Andrew Lachman and his bid for the California State Assembly’s new 46th District.

The California Small Business Association represents over 203,000 California small business owners. CSBA is a grass-roots, non-partisan, small business advocacy organization founded by the 1980 California small business delegates to the White House Conference on Small Business. Their mission is to provide a voice for California small businesses and stimulate the creation of jobs and the economy of California.

“We believe your commitment to the future of small business is deserving of the support from our organization, and you will do a great job representing us effectively in the State Assembly. Your commitment to interacting and partnering with us in small business meetings & councils will prove to be a valuable resource and enable us both to be better informed on issues important to your small business constituency,” said Betty Jo Toccoli, President of CSBA, in a written statement.

“Over three million small businesses in California have been hit hard by the recession and reduction of business support services and opportunities at the state level. I’m honored to have the support of the strongest advocate for small business in our state and am committed to use my own private and public sector experience to work with these small businesses and other working people to get California government on the side of creating jobs and fostering opportunity in California,” said Andrew Lachman. “I look forward to working with CSBA to create a small business roundtable in the 46th Assembly District to create a direct line of communication with the tens of thousands of small businesses in the San Fernando Valley.”

The California State Assembly’s new 46th District is located in the San Fernando Valley and includes all or part of the communities of Lake Balboa, North Hills, Panorama City, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Toluca Lake, Valley Village, Valley Glen, and Van Nuys.

San Fernando Valley, CA – Andrew Lachman’s campaign for Assembly continued to pick up strong support as the Los Angeles Local Unions of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (I.A.T.S.E) and the International Union of Operating Engineers (I.U.O.P.) Local 501 announced their endorsement of Andrew Lachman for Assembly for the 46th Assembly District.

“Andrew has shown an understanding of the issues of the entertainment workers face, and has worked to address these issues,” said Thom Davis, Business Representative for IATSE in the letter announcing the endorsement. “We believe that Andrew Lachman is the candidate who will best serve the members of the IATSE and the residents of the district.”

I.A.T.S.E. Locals represent a cross-section of workers in the entertainment industry, including grips, property craft persons, cinematographers, costumers and make-up artists, many of which both live and work in the entertainment-heavy 46th Assembly District, which includes Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Universal City and the Hollywood Hills.

Operating Engineers Local 501 Business Manager Chris Brown said in his letter that Lachman’s “commitment to working families” was a major factor in their decision to endorse his campaign.

IUOP Local 501 primarily represents engineers who are mechanics and survey operators in the heavy construction industry and public service sector, as well as stationary engineers who operate building complexes.

Andrew Lachman has also drawn the support of Laborers Local 300, Painters & Allied Trades Local 36, Plumbers Local 78 and raised over $120,000 to date in his race for the State Assembly.

“I am honored to have the support of IATSE and the operating engineers.” said Andrew Lachman, “These organizations are representative of the engines that drive the California economy, especially in the San Fernando Valley. I am proud to be an ally in their efforts to get California working again.”
